Brady Tkachuk (born 16.9.1999) is an American ice hockey winger. He has been playing in the NHL since 2018 and he has played his whole NHL career so far with the Ottawa Senators.

Early Career

Brady Tkachuk played two years (2015-17) with U.S. National Development Team. London Knights was drafted Tkachuk in the 2015, but after completing two seasons with the USNDPT, he chose to play with Boston University’s Boston Terriers. Tkachuk was selected to the Hockey East Rookie Team after his season with Boston. Tkachuk was drafted 4th overall by Ottawa Senators in the 2018 NHL Draft.

Ottawa Senators

On 13.8.2018, Tkachuk signed three-year entry-level contract with the Senators. Tkachuk made his NHL debut on 8.10.2018 in a 6-3 loss against Boston Bruins. Tkachuk finished season with 22 goals, even he was sidelined for a month, because of torn ligament in his leg. 22 goals were the second highest among NHL rookies and Senators’ record for most goals by a teenage player in a season. In his second season, 2019-20, Tkachuk made 44 (21+23) points in 71 games, but the Senators would not reach the NHL playoffs. Tkachuk was selected to replace injured Auston Matthews for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis.

International Play

Brady Tkachuk represented Team USA in the 2017 IIHF World U18 Championships in Switzerland. Team USA won gold medals and Brady Tkachuk was the captain of Team USA. Tkachuk represented Team USA in the 2018 IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in USA – Team USA won bronze medals.

Brady’s father Keith Tkachuk played 18 seasons and 1201 games in NHL and he is member of the USA Hockey Hall of Fame. Brady Tkachuk’s older brother, Matthew, plays also in the NHL and he is an alternate captain of Calgary Flames.
