Dominik Kubalík (born 21.8.1995) is a Czech ice hockey winger. He has been playing in the NHL since 2019 with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Early Career

Dominik Kubalík played season 2011-12 with HC Plzeñ U20-team, in same season he also made his Czech Extraliga debut with HC Plzeñ. He played eight games in Extraliga in that season. OHL-league team Sudbury Wolves drafted Kubalík and he played season 2012-13 with the Wolves in OHL. Kubalík was drafted seventh round, 191st overall by Los Angeles Kings in 2013 NHL Draft. Kubalik returned to the Wolves in 2013-14 season. On 10.1.2014, Kubalík was traded to the Kitchener Rangers and he played rest of the season with the Rangers. In season 2014-15, Kubalík returned to the HC Plzeñ. He played three seasons with the Plzeñ. On 25.8.2017, Kubalík signed a three-year contract with HC Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss National League. He split season 2017-18 between HC Ambri-Piotta and HC Plzeñ. Kubalík finished season 2018-19 with 57 (25+32) points in 50 games and he was named the National League´s MVP. Kubalik’s NHL rights were traded to Chicago Blackhawks on 24.1.2019 and on 29.5.2019, the Blackhawks signed Kubalík to a one-year contract.

Chicago Blackhawks

Kubalík played season 2019-20 with the Blackhawks and he made 46 (30+16) points in 68 regular season games and 8 (4+4) points in 9 playoff games. In Playoffs, the Blackhawks met Edmonton Oilers in the 2020 Qualifying Round – in Game 1 of the series, Kubalík recorded 5 (2+3) points in a 6-4 win. His five points were the most scored in an NHL postseason debut in NHL history. On 9.10.2020, the Blackhawks re-signed Kubalík to a two-year contract.

International Play

Kubalík played in 2013 IIHF World U18 Championships and in 2015 IIHF World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He has also played in 2018 Winter Olympics and in 2018 and 2019 IIHF World Championships with Team Czech.
